WHAT ARE THE SHAPES OF THE HYMEN?
The opening of the hymen is generally circular or crescent-shaped. Sometimes it can be in the form of a sieve, in a webbed shape or in different types of hymen. 
HOW IS THE HYMEN EXAMINATION HAPPEN?
In the case of hymen examination, the findings are described according to the clock dials. For example; If there was an opening in the hymen, like at 5 and 8 o'clock, or where the opening occurred, we describe it by describing its location.
Sometimes there may be no rupture in the hymen. In this case, the relationship may not be complete. The hymen opening may be structurally excessive, or there may be a notched hymen and hymen elasticity.
Sometimes happened deformities in the hymen can be enough for the relationship. We describe this situation as notching in the hymen.
At birth, the hymen is divided into 7-8 parts and is called the hymenal caruncle.
HYMEN OPERATİONS
The hymen is not a self-healing and self-repairing structure.
In other words, when the hymen is damaged, there is no going back. The regrets and sorrows that may occur regarding the disruption of the hymen can affect you psychologically. This issue may bring ethical and social debates. While discussing this issue, it is necessary to consider the girls whose membrane is accidentally broken. Temporary hymen repair and permanent hymen repair can be performed. Local anesthesia or general anesthesia can be preferred for both.
Hymen can be sutured temporarily. If there will be intercourse within 1 week,with temporary hymen repair bleeding occurs. This method may not always be understood by another obstetrician.
However, in permanent hymen suturing, the membrane remains for years, and there will not opening until a new relationship. 
WHAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AFTER HYMEN REPAIR?
The hymenal suturing operation time is usually around 15 minutes. Afterwards, control is recommended according to the situation. Constipation should be considered and if so some drugs must be taken. Excessive opening of the legs, squatting should not be done. 
AMOUNT OF BLEEDİNG
In the first sexual intercourse, the membrane is broken 2-3 pieces. The size of the tear and the amount of blood vary according to the opening width of the hymen, the thickness of the membrane and the degree of stretching. If the tear is small, the hymenal bleeding will be in the form of spotting. We call this situation 'notching'. Some hymen openings are quite wide and may allow intercourse. This is the structure that we call 'suitable for penetration' and bleeding does not occur despite intercourse. This type of hymen is only disrupted by the passing of the baby's head during birth.
HOW CAN THE HYMEN BE OPEN?
The opening of the hymen, after the full intercourse, is usually opened from 2-3 places and divided into 3-4 parts. Bleeding may occur immediately or it may come the next day if you have not yet stood up. It is the best to stop the relationship shortly and wipe it with a white handkerchief. The amount of bleeding It may be around 1-2 pets or like spotting. In the absence of hymen bleeding, it can be thought that the membrane may be tear from a place devoid of vessels or the hymen is flexible.
Sometimes when a vein is opened or unintentionally ruptured in another region, there is a lot of bleeding and may require a doctor's intervention. If you lift your hip up during the intercourse, tears may develop in the lower entrance of the vagina. In this case, bleeding can be a lot and can be very painful.
During the rupture of the hymen, there may be a sudden pain lasting up to 5 seconds.
This situation can be facilitated by the man's approach and the woman's helping attitude. Extending the foreplay period may increase the lubricating fluid, which may ease the intercouse. The pain may continue to decrease during the first 1 week. It may be good to talk to your obstetrician before the first night and take some supportive medications.
CARE AFTER SURGERY
In the care of the hymen, liquids that disinfect the area after the rupture of the membrane can be used. You can swim in the sea and the pool.Especially in thick membranes, you can wait 2-3 days for healing. Bleeding may continue in every sexual intercourse for the first 1 week. If you take a 4-5 day break from intercourse, you will allow the area to heal.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOU CAN'T ENTER THE FIRST RELATIONSHIP?

YOUR PROBLEMS MAY START AT THE FIRST SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP!
Yes, it is a difficult and stressful start for women, but as it gets delayed, the difficulties increase. You become more afraid of the rupture of the hymen, and over time, your fear and tension increase in the first night. This situation can create tension in sexual intercourse.
If you are faced with the inability to have a first intercourse despite your efforts, there is no need to prolong this process. It is possible to open the hymen surgically (hymenotomy) with local or general anesthesia by your obstetrician. Because after a while, resentments, and distrust of the spouse may develop. Sometimes families also intervene in your relationship and the problems gradually increase.
The reasons for not being able to have the first sexual intercourse should be discussed and examined. It should be considered that there may be psychological reasons for not having the first sexual intercourse. Psychological counseling can also be taken.
HOW TO DETECT RUPTURE TİME
The hymen heals in a maximum of 10 days, and after healing, it is not possible to predict when the rupture will occur. So, for example, if you come for the examination on the 12th day, we cannot tell whether that membrane was ruptured 12 days ago or 10 years ago. In order to understand the rupture time of the membrane, It is better to come to the examination within 7 days
HYMEN SURGERY
The location of the hymen is a fold of various thicknesses and various structures 2 cm inside from the entrance of the vagina. The middle part is the hole for menstrual blood to flow out, and the type of this opening determines the bleeding that will occur after intercourse.
It is thought that it not only shows bleeding after sexual intercourse and the first intercourse, but also has effects such as protection from infection, especially in children. In children, the hymen is a little harder and contains less opening.
The type observed in 80-90% of the hymen is the round opening called annular type. Generally, in this type, if the opening in the hymen is excessive, bleeding may not occur or it may result in very little spotting. Rarely, there is no natural opening in the hymen (imperforated hymen). Such patients come with no menstruation and abdominal pain at some times of the month. By making a small incision, the blood accumulated inside can be thrown out. 
DOES THE HYMEN SHREDD BY SPORTS?
It is not possible to disrupt the hymen with sports. Excessive opening of the legs, tearing with activities such as cycling is not a common situation. It can rarely deteriorate in serious traumas that come directly to the vagina. The most common situation in such traumas is tears at the entrance of the vagina.
CAN I SEE THE HYGIENE MYSELF?
It is not possible to know the structure of the hymen and whether the hymen is damaged by looking at yourself with a mirror. For this, you need to apply to us.
CAN THE HYMEN REGENERATE SPONTANEOUSLY ?
It cannot be expected that the torn hymen will heal by itself and take its old unruptured state. There are no creams or drugs used in this regard.
CAN BE A PREGNANCY HAPPEN NOT BREAKING THE HYMEN?
Pregnancy without rupture of the hymen can be observed in some unfortunate women. With friction and ejaculation on the genital area, the sperm can reach the uterus by advancing through the hymenal opening. Pregnancy can occur with ejaculation on the vagina.
In case of conception while a virgin, abortion can be performed by trying to enter through the hymen opening. The skill and experience of the physician is very important in this regard.
FOOTNOTE: Consulting a gynecologist before marriage will reveal how much the membrane will bleed or whether there will be any bleeding.
